I’ve been reading a lot of rumors about the possibility of a reunion on stage between Britney Spears and Madonna on Brit’s upcoming tour. I haven’t been able to pin down any kind of solid, reputable source just yet, but I’ll keep my eyes open and let you know!
However, an “unknown source” did speak about the possibility, saying that after Britney joined Madonna on stage in Los Angeles during Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour, Madonna may in turn get her chance to play a part in the “Circus” tour:
“Choreographers have been asked to create an out-of-this-world dance routine for Britney and Madonna… This is going to be a high energy dance routine - getting back to what they are both good at, performing.”
If this is true - and that’s a big IF - I don’t expect that it will be a major commitment for Madonna. After all, Madonna is a huge and long-term pop success, it’s certainly not as though she needs to follow Britney Spears around on her tour, you know?
If this does indeed all come together, I think it will be a one-night deal. There will probably be some sort of extra song and dance number at one of the performances in a random city (perhaps Los Angeles again?), Madonna will do a performance with Britney, and that will be it.

Meanwhile, speaking of the Circus tour, Britney was spotted (above) going into Alley Cat Studios in Hollywood, California where auditions for the tour were being held. It’s getting closer and closer!

According to Rumors in Music, Britney Spears’ latest choreographer says that she is NOT ready to go on tour yet. The word is that her original tour director and choreographer bailed because they were tired of Jamie Spears being such an overbearing and constant presence, demanding drug tests, implementing curfews that got in the way, and more.
When Jamie King took over the choreography, he apparently wasn’t overly impressed by what he saw. He had just finished working on Madonna’s tour which was a well-oiled machine, but he has allegedly told Britney’s dad that she’s not there yet and isn’t ready to get out on stage for a full concert’s worth of performing.
If the stories are true, supposedly Mr. Spears is not interested in hearing any negativity as a source allegedly said, “Jamie didn’t want to hear it. Instead, he said they were coddling Britney and were letting her get away with too much.”
I admit that when Britney first performed live she looked a little awkward, but I think that had more to do with nerves and knowing that she had to be good after the VMA performance that had last been seen. Once she had a few live performances under her belt again, I noticed that she had improved drastically. I think that Britney just needs to get out there and get back into the groove.

You know what I love about Britney Spears? She’s still the same person she always was, fame aside. Some people mock her as a “redneck” or being low-class, but you know what? I love that she shops at Walmart. God knows she has enough money that she doesn’t have to - and yes, she has been seen in some exclusive high end fashion shops and wears clothing worth more than my annual salary for red carpet events, but when it all comes down to it, she can walk in - granted, with a bodyguard - to a Walmart and buy stuff just like you or I would, getting a good bargain.
After the excitement of her brother Bryan Spears’ wedding on New Year’s Eve, Brit was spotted looking rather stylish at the Walmart in Kentwood, Louisiana. She was with a bodyguard, another unidentified man (friend? love interest?), and was looking very relaxed in the first day of the new year. Check out some photos right here.
I hope that 2009 gives Britney nothing but good things, she certainly deserves it after surviving 2008 and ending it with an explosive comeback!

Britney Spears has welcomed a new addition to her family - not a child though! Her brother Bryan Spears got married to Graciella Sanchez on New Year’s Eve! Graciella is no stranger to the Spears family though. Not only has she been dating Bryan for quite some time, she’s also Jamie Lynn Spears‘ manager. The two tied the knot in New Orleans in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends.
I guess that’s how you keep it all in the family!
Congratulations to Bryan on his wedding!

What a year 2008 has been for Britney Spears! Just think that in January of 2008, Britney was in a severe breakdown and ended up hospitalized in Los Angeles. Things looked bleak as she lost most of her custody rights to her boys and she became the butt of an endless supply of jokes for comedians and late-night talk show hosts.
Britney’s life could have - and I predict would have - ended tragically if her family had not finally intervened. As her father Jamie Spears became conservator of everything in Britney’s life, things slowly but surely improved.
A quiet retreat to the beach courtesy of Mel Gibson and cutting off ties with bad influences like Sam Lufti and Adnan Ghalib began to change the course of her life for the better.
And now look at where Britney Spears stands. She released Circus on her birthday, an album that rapidly rocketed to number one on the charts, she performed live for the first time in over a year, won awards at the VMAs and the Bambi Awards and she regained precious time with her sons.
With 2008 coming to a close and 2009 leading to her much-anticipated Circus tour, Britney Spears is finally riding high again and is back on top where she belongs.
Happy new year to all of you - I hope 2009 sees all of your hopes and dreams coming true!

We all know that Britney Spears is a hot celebrity, but USA Today has the official word on it. In an article on their site, they said that Britney ranked as the number one celebrity of 2008 based on what they call the Celebrity Heat Index.
Essentially, they track a celebrity’s online exposure along with exposure in traditional print media (magazines and newspapers) and measure who is the highest. Out of 52 weeks in 2008, Britney held the number one spot for 11 weeks which is more than any other celebrity. Her ranking came courtesy of her hospitalization at the beginning of the year as well as the happier event of releasing Circus.
Britney fascinates us so much that this is her second year in a row in the top slot - she was number one in 2007 as well.
This isn’t news to us though, is it? Of course Britney is number one - everyone wants to know what’s going on in her life, fans and non-fans alike!

Some people take advantage of the clean slate that comes with a brand new year and they plan out elaborate resolutions for themselves. However, Britney Spears has decided that 2009 will be the time for a nail-biting resolution - literally.
OK! magazine claims that Britney really wants to stop biting her nails. She said that while her general health and well-being are her focus, “Next year, I have to stop biting my nails!”
She’s also hoping to push aside her tendency to be a worrier. With a new tour coming in the new year, there’s certainly a lot to worry about but hopefully with all the planning and rehearsing Britney will be too busy to worry too much - which will help keep her from chewing on those fingernails!

Although much of the world’s media brought out the negative aspects of Britney Spears’ public meltdown earlier this year, not everyone is only seeing the down side. Another celebrity who is not a stranger to scandal and blazing headlines, Lindsay Lohan congratulates Britney for getting through her dark times and for still remaining true to herself. Over on Lindsay’s MySpace page, she wrote this about Brit:
“i feel like Britney Spears is an amazing talent, and she has gone through a lot, (just as i have) in the public eye.. which is not necessarily a bad thing.. It teaches young girls and boys that there are certain things in life that you should not let get in the way of your dreams and accomplishments. also that you need to take care of yourself before anyone else, and i mean anyone and everyone else. because at the end of the day, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and see who you really are. stripped of all the distractions in life.”
Not only that, Lindsay also wants people to listen to Britney’s “Circus” album - it’s great to have a celebrity endorsement!
